Walmart to pay $10M over wire fraud scams

CHICAGO — Walmart and the FTC signed a stipulated order according to which Walmart will pay $10 million to settle allegations that its money transferring services were abused by scammers who took hundreds of millions of dollars from Americans. The superstore giant also agreed to take steps to prevent fraud-induced transfers from going through.
