CHICAGO — Walgreens will face racketeering, tortious interference and deceptive trade practices counterclaims brought by the commercial landlord of a Walgreens-leased property. The commercial real estate company says the pharmacy chain sent a bunk letter indicating the risk was at risk of closing to induce landlords into selling their properties cheaply to companies that would rent more cheaply to Walgreens or outright sell the properties at market value, kicking part of the profits back to Walgreens.
