PALM BEACH (CN) - A class action claims Wal-Mart sold more than 15,000 cheap and useless Ozark Trails Outdoor Equipment Pocket Knives. "If the knife was squeezed with slight pressure, the handle cracked and fell off ... creating a hazard and rendering the knife useless," the named plaintiffs say. They claim Wal-Mart knew the knives were useless but "intentionally continued to sell the defective knife on the assumption that it would not be returned by innocent customers because of its low purchase price."
The putative class is represented in Palm Beach County Court by Gregory Weiss with the Leopold Kuvin law office of Palm Beach Gardens.
