Visa Classifications

WASHINGTON (CN) - New State Department regulations sum up recent additions to immigrant and non-immigrant visa classifications.

Immigrant visa classifications added include children living in Hague Adoption Convention countries who are being adopted by U.S. citizens; Afghani and Iraqi nationals working for the U.S. Government in those countries as translators or interpreters; and Iraqis working for the U.S. Government in Iraq. Non-immigrant visa classifications added include Australian nationals in a specialty occupation, treaty aliens from Singapore and Chile in a specialty occupation, and unmarried underage brothers and sisters of either an alien victim of a severe form of trafficking in persons, or victim of certain crimes who may be helpful in the investigation or prosecution of the crimes.
