Virginia Appeals upholds seizure of zoo animals

RICHMOND, Va. — The Virginia Court of Appeals ruled that counties can seize ill-treated zoo animals even if the zoo facility is regulated by the U.S. Department of Agriculture. It also does not matter whether there was probable cause for the seizure because the exclusionary rule does not apply to a civil animal forfeiture proceeding.
