Veterans May Get More Time to Sign Up for Life Insurance

WASHINGTON (CN) - The Department of Veterans Affairs plans to allow more time for veterans to apply for Veterans' Group Life Insurance without proving they are in good health, according to a newly proposed rule.

Eligibility would be extended from 120 days to 240 days.

The VA says it intends for the rule to allow more disabled veterans to enroll in the insurance.

The VA will accept comments until July 25.
