Verizon Spinoff Idearc Seeks Chapter 11

DALLAS (CN) - Idearc, the phone-book spinoff of Verizon, has filed for bankruptcy, listing $1.8 billion in assets and $9.5 billion in debts - $2.9 billion of it to U.S. Bank. The company, which has been hurt by businesses moving to online advertising, says it will continue to operate as it restructures. Verizon spun off Idearc in 2006.
