Vendors Fight Chicago’s Bottled Water Tax

CHICAGO (CN) - The City of Chicago's 5-cent per bottle tax on bottled water is unconstitutional, the American Beverage Association claims in Cook County Court. The group claims the City has no power to enact tax, which took effect Jan. 1, and which allegedly violates the Uniformity Clause of the state constitution. See complaint.
