VA Connects Agent Orange and Heart Disease

WASHINGTON (CN) - Heart disease, Parkinson's disease and certain types of leukemia are ailments the Department of Veterans Affairs proposes to add to the list of diseases presumed to be connected to Agent Orange or other herbicides used during the Vietnam War era to knock back jungle underbrush.

The presumption allows veterans of the war who served when and where the chemicals were sprayed to get medical care and disability benefits from the VA without showing a connection between a medical condition and the spraying.
