Used cars

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — A federal court in California refused to dismiss a small used car dealer’s claim that Carvana violated the state’s Unfair Practices Act. The plaintiff alleges Carvana aims to “disrupt the used car market by bypassing all dealership rules and requirements” in the state.

The court also refused to dismiss plaintiff’s California’s Unfair Competition Law claims brought under “unlawful” and “unfair” prongs, but tossed a claim under the “fraudulent” prong.
