USA Seizes Ship That Ruined SF Bay

SAN FRANCISCO (CN) - The United States has sued and seized the ship that spilled 58,000 gallons of fuel oil into San Francisco Bay, ruining the clamming season, killing wildlife and damaging National Marine Sanctuaries. Uncle Sam seized the Cosco Busan and sued its owner-operators Regal Stone Ltd. and Fleet Management, its pilot, John Cota, and The Shipowners' Insurance & Guaranty Co. See complaint.
