US wins $1.2M tax foreclosure

SEATTLE — The federal government won a judgment in Washington federal court, which allows the government to foreclose its tax liens on real property owned by the director of the Family Defense League. The family trust disagrees with the court’s March 2025 order describing the trust as a “sham entity,” but even if the parents started the trust as a legitimate estate-planning vehicle, it now only serves to shield the illegitimate entity’s director from the government’s attempts to collect long-delinquent taxes.
