‘Unruly’ Pig Captured by Maine Police Along Interstate

Maine State Police celebrated the apprehension Wednesday of an “unruly” pig that was found cavorting on the side of the highway.

(CN) - Maine State Police celebrated the apprehension Wednesday of an “unruly” pig that was found cavorting on the side of the highway.

Assuring residents in a Facebook post that neither troopers nor the subject suffered injuries in the incident, police noted that the pig had managed to elude capture despite multiple sightings over the past week.

He was captured on Nov. 14 along mile marker 155 on the northbound side of I-95, near Palmyra.

“Cpl. Rick Moody and Trooper Jeremy Caron were able to locate the subject, who was uncooperative, and take him into custody,” the post states.

With the help of an animal-control officer, the troopers successfully loaded the pig into a trailer.

"He waived the right to remain silent,” police said when asked if the pig had been read its Miranda rights.
