Unlikely Hero Rescues Woman, FBI Says

ST. LOUIS (CN) - Two women who were forced into prostitution were rescued by a strip club customer, an FBI agent says. Federal prosecutors say Terrance A. Yarbrough prostituted the two Jane Does against their will to men who responded to ads on Craigslist and backpage.com.

Yarbrough, 34, faces a federal charge of sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion.

Jane Doe 1 met Yarbrough in Memphis, when she helped Yarbrough's friend move, court papers state. Afterward, Yarbrough allegedly refused to take her home and kept her as a prostitute.

Yarbrough allegedly told Jane Doe 2 that he had modeling contracts and that he could get her started in the business if she gave him $5,000. But instead of modeling school, he forced her into prostitution, court papers state.

Jane Doe 2 was taken to a strip club, where she told a customer her story. The customer rescued her before her shift was over. Police rescued Jane Doe 1 from another strip club.

Yarbrough was arrested on Aug. 24 at a hotel where he was staying with the women. He is in jail awaiting a judge's decision on whether he can be released on bond. If convicted, he faces a minimum 10 years in prison.
