University of Texas Murder

Meechaiel Criner was properly convicted of capital murder for strangling to death a University of Texas student on campus, a Texas appeals court ruled. 

AUSTIN, Texas – Meechaiel Criner was properly convicted of capital murder for strangling to death a University of Texas student on campus, a Texas appeals court ruled

Criner sought to suppress evidence found in a trash can but he did not have an “objectively reasonable expectation of privacy.” The judgment is modified, however, to reflect that Criner does have the possibility of parole.
