Union Boss Charged With Embezzlement

MANHATTAN (CN) - Federal prosecutors charged the former president of the Communication Workers of America Union Local 14170 with embezzling more than $200,000 from the union. Wayne Mitchell faces up to 5 years of prison if convicted. The union, commonly known as the Mailers Union, represents mailroom employees of New York-based newspapers, including The New York Times, the New York Post, and the Daily News.
