SAN FRANCISCO — A federal judge granted final approval Wednesday to an $8.1 million settlement of a class action claiming Uber fired or refused to hire drivers after surreptitious background checks, in violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act; included is $2 million in attorneys’ fees.
