SAN FRANCISCO – A federal court in California granted Uber’s motion to compel arbitration as to the question of whether a man, who filed a class action suit against the company, is an employee or independent contractor.

The man contends Uber violated the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act when it ceased operations in Austin, Texas, without providing notice to drivers at least 60 days in advance.
