U.S. Supreme Court Cuts Immigrants Some Slack

WASHINGTON (CN) - The U.S. Supreme Court tweaked the immigration rules governing voluntary departure, making it easier for immigrants to stay in the United States legally.

The justices ruled 5-4 that aliens who have overstayed their visas may have an opportunity to withdraw their voluntary departure, provided the request is made before the departure period expires.
