U.S. Bends Over For Loggers, Group Says

SALT LAKE CITY (CN) - The U.S. Forest Service illegally approved logging of 9.7 million board feet in the Dixie National Forest, and intentionally failed to obtain data so it could falsely claim the "Mt. Dutton Vegetation Management Project" would have no significant environmental impact, the Utah Environmental Congress claims in Federal Court. The affected includes several protected species, including the three-toed woodpecker and northern goshawk.
