Two Proposed Bills Would Affect Attorneys

SACRAMENTO (CN) - Assembly Bill 3049 would require the California Bar Association "to fix the annual membership fee for active members for 2009 at a sum not to exceed $315." And AB 3050 "would prohibit a person or organization that is not a legal aid organization from using the term 'legal aid,' or any variant or similar name in any firm name, trade name, fictitious business name, or other designation, or on any advertisement, letterhead, business card, or sign."
