MANHATTAN (CN) - Andrea Moore and Michael Irving face decades in federal prison, convicted of bilking homeowners and lenders of millions in a "foreclosure rescue" scam. They were part of a ring of six, the U.S. Attorney's Office said.
Moore and Irving promised homeowners in Brooklyn and the Bronx that they could refinance through straw buyers who would "save" the house and lease it back to them, then got new loans with false documents and made no payments on the houses. Also indicted were Maurice McDowall, Aleksander Lipkin, Marina Dubin and Kerri Clarke.
