TV Anchor Wants Royalties for Networking

LOS ANGELES (CN) - Television news anchor Carlos Amezcua says he is entitled to a share of the profits that Move Networks makes from selling technology for online programming. The company signed several lucrative deals through his contacts with Hollywood media companies, Amezcua claims in Superior Court.

The plaintiff allegedly introduced Move Networks to key executives at Fox, Time Warner and Discovery Communications, among others, resulting in some major contracts. Amezcua claims the company broke its promise to pay him a share of the revenues earned through the use of his name, reputation and contacts.

Move Networks has allegedly refused to make any payments and has "stonewalled" the plaintiff. Amezcua wants an accounting to find out how much he is owed, adding that it could be "in the millions."

He is represented by Dreier Stein Kahan Browne Woods George LLP.
