WASHINGTON — Judge Tanya Chutkin denied Donald Trump’s motion to dismiss the federal government’s four criminal charges against him related to his conduct on Jan. 6, 2021. Trump argued the charges constitute selective or vindictive prosecution, but the D.C. federal court is not convinced that the prosecution is politically motivated or otherwise discriminatory. Mere coincidence with his presidential campaign does not constitute political motivation.
