Trucking Manager Gets 10 Years in Prison

TEMECULA, Calif. (CN) - The former manager of Penske Truck Leasing in Temecula will spend 10 years in prison for conspiring to distribute more than a ton of marijuana in company trucks. David Jeffrey Barragan had secret compartments built in the trucks and had them driven to Texas, Kentucky and Illinois, federal prosecutors said.

Barragan, 42, of Temecula, pleaded guilty on conspiring to distribute marijuana and agreed to be sentenced to 10 years in prison, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office in San Diego. His formal sentencing will be on April 25.

Temecula, a wealthy enclave in Riverside County, midway between San Diego and Riverside, is a hotbed of right-wing politics and religion.
