Truck Drivers’ Pay

A federal court in Arizona ruled that a class of trainee truck drivers for Swift Transportation Company are entitled to $7.8 million in damages for time logged as “sleeper berth” in excess of eight hours per day. The question of whether the company was entitled to deduct any sleeping time from the drivers’ pay will proceed to trial.
