Trouble In Steinbeck Country

VISALIA, CALIF. (CN) - Portuguese farmhands have been part of the California landscape since John Steinbeck's classic "Tortilla Flat." Now Frank Pinheiro says Triple H Dairy discriminated against him and fired him after nine years as head herdsman because he is Portuguese - that his boss said Portuguese workers "are greedy and want to make too much money" and that they "are lazy and don't work as hard as the Mexicans," in Tulare County Court.
