SEATTLE – A federal court in Washington dismissed a lawsuit brought by unsuccessful candidates for the Nooksack Tribal Council who alleged that the Interior Department wrongfully endorsed the results of primary and general elections in 2017, in a departure from previous policy.

The department has never adopted any policy regarding the elections for the governing body of the Nooksack Indian Tribe of Washington.
