NEW ORLEANS (CN) - Jury selection begins today for a trial involving actors Kevin Costner and Stephen Baldwin.
In a 2010 federal complaint, Baldwin claimed that Costner and others had tricked him into selling his shares in a company with technology to separate oil from water.
Baldwin and a co-plaintiff said Costner and his associates made a lucrative deal with BP after the Deepwater Horizon oil spill, then bought out the plaintiffs' shares while keeping them in the dark about the $52 million sale to BP.
U.S. District Judge Martin Feldman, who is overseeing the case, has ordered both Costner and Baldwin to attend the entire trial, which is expected to last two weeks.
