MIAMI — A federal court in Florida granted Governor Ron DeSantis’s motion to dismiss a trans student athlete’s challenge to the state’s “Fairness in Women’s Sports Act,” which prevents trans girls from participating in girls’ sports teams. The court was not convinced that the law’s passage was “motivated by discriminatory animus,” but she is given leave to file an amended complaint.
