(CN) - Graphics Properties Holdings refiled a complaint with the International Trade Commission claiming Apple, Sony and other mobile device makers import gizmos that infringe on three GPH patents.
The ITC complaint originally was filed in November 2011. GPH filed a similar complaint in Delaware Federal Court at about the same time.
Apple already had filed for declaratory relief from infringement claims in San Francisco Federal Court. Both actions are still pending.
The original ITC complaint was withdrawn the day the new complaint was filed.
GPH, formerly known as Silicon Graphics, claims that devices imported by Apple, Sony, Samsung, LG, Research in Motion and HTC violate its patent on flat panel liquid crystal displays with a wide aspect ratio.
The second patent at issue involves data processing operations that use floating point numbers to convert data into pixilated images.
The third patent allows computers to process instructions that normally take two clock cycles in one cycle, increasing the processing speed of the computer.
GPH asks the ITC to investigate and block importation and sale of the devices if it finds they infringe GPH's patents.
