Toyota Wants Gas Pedal Lawsuits Consolidated

(CN) Toyota Motor Co. wants the dozens of defective accelerator lawsuits filed against it to be consolidated into a single lawsuit and heard in Los Angeles.

More than 100 attorneys packed a courtroom in U.S. District Court in San Diego, Calif., on Thursday to ask a federal panel to bundle the lawsuits filed against it after reports of sudden unintended acceleration.

Toyota's U.S. headquarters is in the Los Angeles suburb of Torrance.
