Tort filings unsealed by nonprofit

HONOLULU — The Hawaii Court of Appeals ruled in favor of a nonprofit news organization advocating for public access, ordering the unsealing of a civil case involving tort claims against a medical professional and their business. The lower court didn’t justify sealing the case file, violating constitutional standards for public access to court records.
