Time-Share Operators Face Federal Charges

EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. (CN) - A federal grand jury indicted three Florida on charges of scamming hundreds of time-share owners for more than $1 million. Darnell Disroe, 38, and Michael Lentine, 32, both of Boynton Beach, and Michael Starace, 42, of Lantana, ran Real Timeshare Marketing.

Prosecutors say the men asked, and received, thousand dollars from each victim for "costs" from the fake sales.

Prosecutors say the scheme netted $1.3 million in the 5 months beginning Dec. 1, 2009. There were allegedly 615 victims in 46 states and six Canadian provinces.
