(CN) - Two students and a teacher were wounded Wednesday afternoon after a teenager, who authorities say first murdered his father, opened fire at a Townville, S.C., elementary school.
Capt. Garland Major told a news conference that the shooter fatally shot his father with a handgun, and then proceded to Townville Elementary School.
Capt. Major said one of the injured students was shot in the leg, while the other was shot in the foot.
He said a female teacher was shot in the shoulder during Wednesday's incident.
Anderson County emergency services director Taylor Jones said all other students at the Tschool were safe following the shooting. The students were bused to a nearby church and reunited with their parents.
Local television reports showed officers converging on the school en mass earlier this afternoon..
All of the roads to the school, which is surrounded by working farms, were blocked off after police arrived at the scene.
