‘The White Chick Has a Problem With Her Biscuits’

CLAYTON, Mo. (CN) - A woman claims in court that McDonald's employees refused to serve her because she is white.

Amber Gilleylen sued M&M Management, Tonya Wesley and Pardeep Roe (last name unknown), in St. Louis County Court.

Gilleylen claims the incident happened at a McDonald's in St. Ann, Mo., on Nov. 30, 2011. She says the trouble began when she complaint to McDonald's employee Wesley about her food.

"Tonya Wesley abusively yelled to the entire restaurant in a loud voice that 'the white chick has a problem with her biscuits," the complaint states.

Gilleylen claims Wesley and the store manager, Pardeep Roe, told her she could have her money back or nothing at all.

Gilleylen claims the employees refused to serve her "based on her color, race and sex."

She also claims Wesley physically threatened her.

"In doing so, defendant Tonya Wesley intended to cause plaintiff offensive contact of bodily harm and/or apprehension of offensive conduct or bodily harm," the complaint states.

St. Ann, pop. 13,000, is a suburb of St. Louis. Its population is 67 percent white and 22 percent black, according to city-data.com.

Gilleylen seeks punitive damages for discrimination and assault. She is represented by Andrew Kuhlmann, of St. Louis.

M&M Management does business as McDonald's, in St. Ann.
