The treatment caused infection

BOSTON — BioZorb, a medical device manufacturer, could not dodge the majority of the negligence and breach of warranty claims brought by a patient who had a BioZorb marker implanted during a partial mastectomy to treat her breast cancer. An infection developed where the device, which is intended to help target radiation therapy, was planted, and the patient’s doctor was not warned of the risk that the device could erode through patients’ skin; he has since stopped giving it to his patients, several of whom he had to remove it from.
