‘The Time of My Life’

Songs of Pensive Music paid only $2.09 for six months of royalties for the worldwide hit “I’ve Had the Time of My Life,” from the movie “Dirty Dancing," a company claims in a federal complaint .

LOS ANGELES — Marcu Music Co., partly owned by songwriter Donald Markowitz, accuses Pen Music Group aka Songs of Pensive Music in a federal complaint of having paid it only $2.09 for six months of royalties for the worldwide hit “I’ve Had the Time of My Life,” from the movie “Dirty Dancing."
