The case of the missing diamonds

LOS ANGELES — A California federal judge overturned the lower court’s judgment in favor of Sotheby’s, which argued it was not responsible for the vanishing of 45 yellow diamonds worth $4 million. Rather, the jeweler should not have handed the diamonds to a third party without the diamond owner’s consent.
