Texas Pol Sees ‘Civil War’|If Obama’s Re-Elected

LUBBOCK, Texas (CN) - The Lubbock county judge asked voters for a tax increase to hire more law enforcement officers for a "civil war" if President Barack Obama is re-elected.

Lubbock County Judge Tom Head appeared on FOX-affiliate KJTV in Lubbock on Monday to ask voters for a 1.7 percent increase for the next fiscal year.

County judges in Texas are not judicial officers; they are the top officials on County Commissions.

Head said Lubbock County Sheriff Kelly Rowe needs to hire seven more deputies to reduce call response times, officer fatigue and help with investigations. But he was most fearful of 4 more years of the president.

"He's going to try to hand over the sovereignty of the United States to the U.N., and what is going to happen when that happens," Head said. "I'm thinking the worst. Civil unrest, civil disobedience, civil war maybe. And we're not just talking a few riots here and demonstrations, we're talking Lexington, Concord, take up arms and get rid of the guy."

Head claimed that in response to a public revolt, Obama would send in United Nations troops.

"I don't want 'em in Lubbock County, OK?" Head said. "So I'm going to stand in front of their armored personnel carrier and say 'you're not coming in here.'

"And the sheriff, I've already asked him, I said, 'You gonna back me?' He said, 'Yeah, I'll back you.' Well, I don't want a bunch of rookies back there. I want trained, equipped, seasoned veteran officers to back me."
