Texas Oil Man’s Claim In Kazakh Rhubarb Survives Motion To Dismiss

MANHATTAN (CN) - A federal judge has denied an Italian company's request to dismiss a case accusing it of stealing confidential, proprietary information to develop a Kazakh oil field.

Texas oil man Jack Grynberg sued ENI SpA fka AGIP, claiming he shared confidential information about the Karachaganak oil field with British Gas, and that British Gas used it to create a partnership to develop the field with ENI. ENI sought summary judgment for expired statute of limitations. U.S. District Judge Robert Carter denies the request, without prejudice. See ruling.
