Texas limits on possessing weapons upheld

FORT WORTH, Texas — Texas’ ban on firearms and certain other weapons at locations such as racetracks, sporting events, interscholastic events and certain alcohol-serving businesses was upheld in federal court over the Second Amendment objections filed by a gun rights group and several individuals. These locations are “sensitive places where prohibiting firearms is constitutionally permissible” under the history and tradition test for Second Amendment analysis.
