JERSEY CITY (CN) - Ten tenants say developers sold them $500,000 condos in the 23-story "Shore South" building, promising views with an "unbelievable panoramic range" of the New York City skyline, then proceeded to build a 32-story building blocking it.
The plaintiffs - who say they paid an average of $500,000 - say the defendants knew when they sold the condos in the 214-unit building in Jersey City that they would build a 24-story building blocking the views, and later sought and received permits to build a 32-story tower.
They claim the defendants later advertised the blocking building, called Aquablu, with a photo from the South Shore that shows Aquablu blocking the South Shore building.They sued Shore Club South Urban Renewal LLC, LeFrak Organization Inc., Newport Associates Development Co., and James LeFrak, in Hudson County Court. They seek compensatory damages for fraud, breach of contract, breach of warranty, breach of faith and unjust enrichment. They are represented by Eugene Killian with Killian & Salisbury of Clark, N.J.
