Temp Agency Let Violent Predator Get|Her Name & Number, Woman Says

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (CN) - A violent sexual predator robbed a woman and demanded sex at gunpoint after getting her name and phone number from a sign-in list that Labor Ready Midwest keeps at its front desk, the woman claims in Allen County Court.

The woman also sued Labor Ready's corporate parent, True Blue, of Tacoma, Wash., and her alleged assailant, Tyrone Henderson. She says Henderson abducted her after getting her name and number from the sign-in list, and that she agreed to drive him to a supposed job because "Labor Ready maintains a policy of carpooling wherein the driver, in exchange for transporting other Labor Ready employees, receives a per diem reimbursement for mileage."

Henderson is registered as a sexually violent predator and served 8 years in prison for rape and sodomy, then moved to Fort Wayne and went to work for Labor Ready, the complaint states.

The woman says she escaped from Henderson at a gas station and called the police. He was charged with robbery, criminal confinement and sexual battery and is awaiting trial, the complaint states.

After the ordeal with Henderson, the woman says, she called Labor Ready to complain, and a manager told her "that Henderson must have obtained the clipboard list and later used the offices' phone while the manager was outside or otherwise not paying attention. The manager apologized to (the plaintiff) for the ordeal she suffered and stated that in the future Labor Ready would institute precautions to prevent employees from obtaining co-worker information."

She demands punitive damages. She is represented by John Bowers.
