(CN) - The 7th Circuit upheld an injunction barring a tax protester from selling his "Reliance Defense Package" and "16th Amendment Reliance Package," which purportedly tell customers how to stop paying federal income taxes and avoid prosecution.
A three-judge panel of the federal appeals court in Chicago also ordered William Benson, author of "The Law That Never Was," to hand over his customer list to the government.
Judge Bauer said the injunction is appropriate, "because the sale of the packages inherently involves false commercial speech."
The Reliance Defense Package sold for $3,500.
