Tax Deficiences

The Ninth Circuit upheld a tax court’s decision against Harborside Health Center, one of the largest marijuana dispensaries in the U.S., on its petition for a redetermination of federal tax deficiencies, finding that a tax court properly ruled Harborside’s inventory cost is determined by a U.S. Treasury regulation that “applies to a purchaser and reseller of the products it sells.”

SAN FRANCISCO — The Ninth Circuit upheld a tax court’s decision against Harborside Health Center, one of the largest marijuana dispensaries in the U.S., on its petition for a redetermination of federal tax deficiencies, finding that a tax court properly ruled Harborside’s inventory cost is determined by a U.S. Treasury regulation that “applies to a purchaser and reseller of the products it sells.”
