Tax Attorney In Hot Water

MANHATTAN (CN) - An attorney took more than $660,000 by referring clients to a "tax shelter boutique," stashed some of it in "Albert Edward LLC," which he created to hide the loot, and did not disclose his "fees" to his clients, his law firm, or to the IRS, federal prosecutors say. Jay I. Gordon, 51, of Saddle River, N.J., was formerly head of a major Miami law firm's New York tax office, the U.S. Attorney's office said.
