Talent Agency Wants Slice of ‘American Pie’

LOS ANGELES (CN) - United Talent Agency claims its client Adam Herz, who wrote and produced "American Pie 3," dumped it owing it $700,000 in commissions after it negotiated the $7 million deal for him.

United Talent sued Herz and Atursis Entertainment in Superior Court.

The agency claims it negotiated a great deal for Herz with Universal Pictures. It claims Herz made nearly $7 million on "American Pie 3," and that the deal it negotiated allows Herz to make "an amount no less favorable" on the next movie in the series, regardless of whether Herz puts in any work on the sequel.

United Talent says Universal declined to use Herz's services on "American Pie 4," but that "Herz received millions of dollars" for that movie anyway. It claims Herz owes it 10 percent commission on those millions.

United Talent seeks at least $700,000 for commissions from Herz's production services alone.

The talent agency is represented by Bryan Freedman and September Rea with Freedman & Taitelman.
