The Seventh Circuit stayed the nationwide aspect of an injunction blocking U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions’ attempt to financially punish so-called sanctuary cities for refusing to enforce federal immigration laws, but allowed the injunction to apply to Chicago while the court prepares to rehear the case en banc.
