T-Shirt Seller Says Republican Party Can’t Sue|For GOP & Elephant Trademark Claims

LOS ANGELES (CN) - Cafepress.com sued the Republican National Committee in Federal Court to stave off a threatened lawsuit. Cafepress claims that the GOP acronym, the elephant, and an elephant with three stars on it are generic ways to identify the Republican Party, and the RNC cannot follow through with its threat to sue Cafepress for selling T-shirts with those symbols.
